BELONGS TO THE VIETNAMESE PEOPLE.
INTRODUCTION.
The Journey to Trace the "Source Code" of
Eastern Civilization.
In the history of human thought, few works possess both
philosophical and scientific qualities while exerting such profound influence
on cultural life as the I Ching. For over three thousand years, this classic
has been regarded as the foundation of nearly all Eastern doctrines, spanning
philosophy, astronomy, calendrical science, military strategy, medicine, feng
shui, architecture, and even the art of state governance.
However, alongside the value of the I Ching, one question
has always persisted and has never truly been settled:
Who is the true original owner of this system of thought?
The prevailing view for many centuries has held that the I
Ching is an achievement of Huaxia civilization. Consequently, most research has
focused on the development of Yi studies from the time of Fuxi, King Wen, the
Duke of Zhou, to Confucius.
But when viewed more broadly across East Asian cultural
space, particularly the ancient Baiyue region, new questions emerge.
Why are the oldest geometric symbols densely distributed in
the cultural space of the South?
Why does the Đông Sơn bronze drum tradition contain a system
of astronomical and numerological symbols with a special structure?
Why do many ancient Vietnamese legends preserve thinking
models very close to the philosophy of Yin-Yang and the Three Talents (Tam
Tài)?
And most importantly:
Is the I Ching as we know it today the starting point, or
merely the result of a long process of inheritance from an even more ancient
civilization?
This is the question that runs throughout the research
journey of Phạm Hùng Sơn.
Unlike approaches relying solely on ancient texts, the
author chooses a more challenging path: field research, terrain surveys,
investigation of historical sites, comparison with folk legends, surveying
dragon vein regions, and combining many years of practical experiential
research.
Through the 108 articles in "Ký sự bên kia chiều không
gian thứ 4" (Chronicles from the Other Side of the 4th Dimension), the
author not only records spiritual phenomena but also gradually builds a system
of thought to answer a larger question:
Where does the true origin of Eastern civilization lie?
From the perspective of Hồng Bàng Dịch, this question is not
merely a historical issue.
It is a journey to reclaim the "Source Code" of a
civilization.
If the I Ching is viewed as the "Operating System"
of Eastern thought, then what needs to be traced is not only the final
compiler, but the first people who built the thinking structure of that
operating system.
In this view, the I Ching was not created in a short
historical period but is the result of a long process of knowledge accumulation
spanning many millennia, originating from the broad cultural space of the
Baiyue community, in which the Hồng Bàng civilization played a particularly
important role.
This article does not aim to deny the great contributions of
Chinese scholars and dynasties in systematizing, annotating, and disseminating
the I Ching.
On the contrary, the goal of the article is to propose a
different approach:
Before becoming a classic of Huaxia civilization, did the I
Ching once exist in older forms within the Lạc Việt cultural space?
If the answer is yes, then re-examining that origin not only
has academic significance but also contributes to a fuller understanding of the
history of Eastern civilization formation.
This is also the spirit running through Hồng Bàng Dịch:
Not to fight over history.
Not to deny history.
But to restore layers of history that have been obscured by
time and cultural shifts.
I. THE JOURNEY TO TRACE AND RECLAIM THE "COSMIC
MAP" FOR OUR ANCESTORS.
Throughout more than half a century of research, Professor
Nguyễn Hoàng Phương has repeatedly emphasized that to understand Eastern
civilization, one must first understand the origins of Yi studies.
Phạm Hùng Sơn continues this path but with a different
method.
While Nguyễn Hoàng Phương starts from philosophy,
spirituality, and the operating laws of the universe, Phạm Hùng Sơn goes back
to the field.
From the ancient stone fields of Sa Pa.
The traces of Khoa Đẩu script.
Ancient temples.
National vital points.
Regions that folk tradition calls Tổ Rồng (Dragon Ancestor),
Rốn Rồng (Dragon Navel).
All of these become "stone books" that, according
to the author, still preserve the memory of a very ancient civilization.
According to Hồng Bàng Dịch, history is not only recorded in
written texts.
History is also preserved in geological strata.
In symbols.
In architecture.
In earth veins.
In the collective memory of the community.
And in the very structure of thought passed down from
generation to generation.
Therefore, to find the origin of the I Ching, one cannot
only read books.
One must read the mountains.
Read the rivers.
Read the symbols that ancestors left behind.
According to the author’s view, over thousands of years of
change, many cultural layers have overlapped one another.
Winning communities often rewrite history.
Weakening communities gradually lose their voice.
This causes many original values to be adopted, transformed,
and reinterpreted in new forms.
If this is correct, then re-examining the role of Lạc Việt
civilization in the formation of Yi studies is not denying history, but
expanding the scope of historical research.
This is also why Hồng Bàng Dịch uses the concept of
"restoring the Source Code" instead of "rewriting history."
A computer program can be upgraded many times.
But to understand the entire system, the researcher must
always return to the original version.
In this analogy, today’s I Ching is like an operating system
that has undergone many updates.
What Hồng Bàng Dịch strives to trace is the
"Kernel" – the original core of that operating system.
If that core truly originated from Hồng Bàng civilization,
then re-identifying it will help us understand more clearly not only Vietnamese
history but also the process of formation of Eastern knowledge.
Therefore, Phạm Hùng Sơn’s journey does not stop at finding
a few artifacts or ancient texts.
It is a journey connecting archaeology, geo-culture,
legends, symbology, Yi studies, and spiritual studies into a unified system of
thought.
It is also the foundation for Hồng Bàng Dịch to propose a
bold hypothesis:
The Luo Shu, He Tu, and I Ching may be surviving fragments
of a knowledge system far older than current understanding.
II.1. THE I CHING – LUO SHU BELONGS TO LẠC VIỆT, THE HÙNG
KINGS, AND HỒNG BÀNG CIVILIZATION.
For many centuries, the I Ching has often been viewed as the
philosophical foundation of Huaxia civilization. However, from the perspective
of Hồng Bàng Dịch, two distinct stages must be clearly differentiated:
• The stage of formation of original knowledge. • The stage
of systematization and compilation into classics.
These are two processes that do not necessarily occur in the
same cultural space or the same era.
According to the hypothesis of Hồng Bàng Dịch, the
foundational principles of Yi studies may have appeared very early among the
Baiyue communities – people living in a vast space south of the Yangtze River,
including the areas of northern and north-central Vietnam today.
These were agricultural communities practicing wet-rice
farming, closely tied to rivers, natural cycles, hydrology, astronomy, and
seasonal rhythms. These living conditions forced them to continuously and
long-term observe the laws governing heaven and earth.
In that environment, concepts of Yin-Yang, cycles, change,
balance, and Central Harmony were not only philosophical ideas but also lived
experiences.
According to Hồng Bàng Dịch, it was from this practical
reality that the first thinking models about the Yi could have been formed.
If this hypothesis is correct, then the I Ching did not
arise from a single creative moment but was the result of a collective
knowledge accumulation process spanning many generations.
Later dynasties made great contributions in refining,
systematizing, and disseminating it, but that does not mean the entire
intellectual core began at the time of textual compilation.
This is also why Hồng Bàng Dịch pays special attention to
archaeological traces such as Đông Sơn bronze drums, ancient Sa Pa stone
fields, ancient geometric models, Hùng Vương legends, and folk symbolic
systems. According to this research direction, these elements may reflect
pre-literate layers of knowledge – a period when understanding of astronomy,
geography, and symbols was conveyed through images, rituals, and spatial
structures rather than written texts.
Through the lens of Hồng Bàng Dịch, the Luo Shu is not
merely a numerological diagram.
It is a symbol of the Central Harmony principle – a
principle that plays a central role in the entire system of thought.
The number 5 at the center is not only mathematical but also
symbolizes the Fulcrum – the point of convergence and balance of Heaven, Earth,
and Humanity.
In this interpretation, the greatest value of the Luo Shu
lies not in the numbers themselves but in the principle of spatial organization
and the laws of motion that the diagram expresses.
From this foundation, Hồng Bàng Dịch develops into the 9×9
Matrix model and expands into an interdisciplinary research system connecting
Yi studies, philosophy, symbology, and hypotheses about the information
structure of the universe.
Although many points in this research direction still need
further verification through archaeology, textual studies, and related
sciences, re-posing the question about the role of Lạc Việt civilization in the
formation of Yi studies remains important. It opens the possibility of viewing
East Asian history as a process of exchange, transformation, and co-creation,
rather than attributing everything to a single center.
In that spirit, the journey to trace the origin of the I
Ching does not aim to provoke opposition between cultures but to restore
missing links in the history of Eastern thought. This is also the starting step
for Hồng Bàng Dịch to continue implementing subsequent research chapters on the
Luo Shu, He Tu, Khoa Đẩu script, the 9×9 Matrix, and the Law of the Fulcrum as
components of a unified system of thought.
II.2. THE HISTORICAL INJUSTICE – CULTURAL APPROPRIATION
AND THE LOSS OF OWNERSHIP OF THE I CHING.
Human history has never been written only by swords and
spears.
History is also written by writing, by legends, by names,
and by the right to recount the past.
A nation may lose territory and regain it. A dynasty may
fall and revive. But when a nation loses ownership of its own knowledge system,
that loss lasts for thousands of years, because future generations will grow up
believing that their ancestors’ achievements belonged to another nation.
According to the view of Hồng Bàng Dịch, this is the
greatest "historical injustice."
It is not merely the failure of a war.
It is the transfer of ownership of memory.
In East Asian history, the formation of Huaxia civilization
was an extremely complex process.
It did not occur on an isolated land.
On the contrary, it was a process of exchange, conflict,
intermingling, and transformation among many different resident communities,
including Baiyue groups stretching from the Yangtze River basin down to
northern Vietnam and central Vietnam today.
Today, even many archaeologists and historians acknowledge
that the southern Yangtze region in prehistoric times was the cradle of many
brilliantly developed cultures.
Cultures such as Hemudu, Liangzhu, Shijiahe... existed
before or parallel to the formation of the Central Plains civilization.
This shows that history is not simply a flow from North to
South as in traditional views.
On the contrary, cultural influence occurred in multiple
directions.
This is a very important point.
Because if we acknowledge the existence of a vast Baiyue
cultural space, then the integration of many later cultural achievements into
the Huaxia system is entirely possible.
According to Teacher Phạm Hùng Sơn’s perspective, the I
Ching also lies within this process.
It was not "invented" at a single point in time.
Rather, it is the crystallization of a much older knowledge
tradition.
What is noteworthy is that many ancient Chinese legends
mention figures such as the Yellow Emperor, Chiyou, Yandi...
But if we read carefully, we notice something interesting.
These figures all lived in a period before a complete
historical system existed.
The stories carry both historical and mythological colors.
They reflect collective memory more than accurate
chronology.
According to Hồng Bàng Dịch, Chiyou should not be viewed
only as a defeated leader.
He may represent an ancient cultural system with high levels
of metallurgy, military, and knowledge.
If so, the Yellow Emperor-Chiyou war was not merely a
struggle for power.
It was also a transfer of leadership between two
civilizational systems.
After victory, the winning side had the right to rewrite
history.
That is a common rule in human history.
The Law of the Fulcrum offers a different perspective.
A system that seizes the "central fulcrum" will
not only control territory.
It will also control the right to define truth.
Whoever holds the fulcrum.
That person writes history.
That person gives names.
That person determines who is the center.
And that person also decides which civilization becomes
orthodox.
If viewed from this angle, the absorption of many
achievements from Baiyue communities into Huaxia culture is a phenomenon that
can be fully explained by the laws of history.
It is not an isolated phenomenon.
World history has witnessed many similar cases.
The Romans adopted Greek civilization.
The Byzantine Empire inherited from Rome.
Europe’s Renaissance was based on Greek and Arab heritage.
Civilizations always succeed one another.
The important thing is to distinguish between
"inheritor" and "originator."
This is the point that Hồng Bàng Dịch wants to re-establish.
According to Teacher Phạm Hùng Sơn’s view, this process also
led to a more serious consequence.
It is the rupture of national memory.
Once descendants no longer know what their ancestors
created, they gradually accept that they are only learners of knowledge from
outside.
That is the greatest loss.
Because a nation that loses confidence will find it very
difficult to create.
A tree cut off from its roots cannot grow strong.
Therefore, the search for the origin of the I Ching in the
Teacher’s work does not aim to deny the value of Chinese civilization.
On the contrary.
The goal is to restore the missing part of East Asian
history’s memory.
It is not denial.
It is supplementation.
It is not confrontation.
It is completing the historical picture.
At this point, Hồng Bàng Dịch proposes a bold research
hypothesis.
If the Luo Shu, He Tu, and the Yi studies system truly have
deep roots in Baiyue cultural space, then their traces will not only exist in
written records.
They must also remain on stone.
On bronze.
In geometry.
In primitive symbols.
And in the ancient writing system itself.
This is also why Teacher Phạm Hùng Sơn spent many decades in
field research surveying ancient stone fields, Đông Sơn bronze drums, and
especially the Khoa Đẩu script system.
Because according to the Teacher, to find the source code,
one must go to where that code was first engraved.
Not on paper.
But on stone.
Not in legends.
But in the material memory of the civilization.
II.3. KHOA ĐẨU SCRIPT – NÒNG NỌC SCRIPT AND THE SOURCE
CODE OF HỒNG BÀNG CIVILIZATION.
If archaeology is the memory of the earth, then writing is
the memory of thought.
A civilization may lose its citadels, temples, even its name
in historical records. But as long as a system of primitive symbols remains,
that civilization has not completely disappeared. Because symbols not only
record language but also record how humans think about the universe.
This is also why, throughout many decades of field research,
Teacher Phạm Hùng Sơn not only surveyed temples, dragon veins, or ancient
tombs, but paid special attention to engravings on stone, bronze, and
prehistoric artifacts.
According to the Teacher, to trace the origin of the I
Ching, one must first trace the origin of the symbol system that created the I
Ching.
In other words, one must find the "source code" of
the civilization.
That is precisely the Khoa Đẩu script.
The Khoa Đẩu script is not merely a writing system.
In the common understanding, writing was created to record
sound, meaning, and convey information.
But from the perspective of Hồng Bàng Dịch, the Khoa Đẩu
script carries a deeper function.
It records the laws of energy movement.
The curved strokes, hooks, spirals, and tadpole-like marks
are not simply characters to be read.
They resemble oscillation graphs.
Like lines of force.
Like trajectories of motion.
Like streams of circulating energy.
If Chinese characters developed in the direction of
ideographs, then Khoa Đẩu script seems to have developed in the direction of
"motion representation."
What is recorded is not the shape of things.
But the state of motion of things.
This is a very fundamental difference.
If this hypothesis is correct, then the Khoa Đẩu script is
not only an ancient writing system.
It is also a scientific symbol system of prehistoric times.
Nòng Nọc Script – Why does it have that shape?
Many people only see squiggly symbols.
But from the perspective of Hồng Bàng Dịch, that shape is by
no means accidental.
Tadpoles are the image of life in motion.
Not standing still.
Not square.
Not closed.
But always moving.
This is also the spirit of the Yi (Change).
Change is transformation.
Change is flow.
Change is oscillation.
Change is process, not result.
Therefore, if we regard the entire Nòng Nọc symbol system as
a direct simulation of the flow of Yin-Yang, we will see that it is closer to
the thought of the I Ching than any pictographic writing system.
In this view, Nòng Nọc script is not the predecessor of
Chinese characters.
But the predecessor of the very thought of Yi studies.
The ancient Sa Pa stone field – the stone library of the
ancient civilization?
In his research journey, Teacher Phạm Hùng Sơn has returned
many times to the ancient Sa Pa stone field.
Not to find beautiful engravings.
But to find patterns.
If one looks only at individual stones, people only see
circles, squares, spirals, engravings, and strange symbols.
But when surveying the entire complex, a big question
arises.
Why do these symbols repeat with certain proportions and
rules?
Why are they not random doodles?
Why do many symbols have structures similar to geometric
diagrams and number matrices?
According to Hồng Bàng Dịch, the ancient Sa Pa stone field
is not merely an artistic relic.
It may be an "outdoor library" of the Hồng Bàng
civilization.
Not written on paper.
Not on bamboo.
Not on silk.
But written directly on stone to survive thousands of years
of change.
If this hypothesis is correct, then this is the first
"hard drive" storing the data of the ancient Vietnamese civilization.
Đông Sơn bronze drums – cosmic map in geometry
If the ancient stone field is a stone library, then the Đông
Sơn bronze drum can be seen as the "operating model" of the universe.
For many decades, archaeologists have studied the patterns
on bronze drums extensively.
Multi-rayed stars.
Lạc birds.
Dancing figures.
Boats.
Concentric circles.
Pattern bands.
But until now there has been no unified explanation.
According to Hồng Bàng Dịch, these patterns are not merely
decorative.
They are a coded system.
The central star is the Fulcrum.
The concentric circles describe layers of energy resonance.
Flocks of Lạc birds describe cycles of motion.
Geometric patterns depict the oscillation laws between Yin
and Yang.
The entire drum face becomes a "dynamic map" of
the universe.
If one places the bronze drum face next to He Tu and Luo
Shu, researchers will recognize many geometric structures that can be compared.
This is not yet proof.
But it is a very worthwhile research direction to continue.
He Tu – Luo Shu: from symbol to mathematical structure
For many centuries, He Tu and Luo Shu have mainly been
explained through philosophy.
But Hồng Bàng Dịch proposes a different approach.
It is to read them as mathematical structures.
The numbers are not only symbolic.
They also express relationships between position, direction,
cycles, and states of balance.
In particular, the number 5 in the center is not merely a
number.
It is the Fulcrum.
It is the balance point of the entire system.
This is also where Hồng Bàng Dịch directly meets the Law of
the Fulcrum.
A machine only works when it has an axis.
A lever only works when it has a fulcrum.
A civilization is the same.
To operate long-term, it must have an unchanging center.
If that center is lost, the entire system falls into chaos.
From the Luo Shu matrix to the 9×9 Matrix.
According to Teacher Phạm Hùng Sơn’s interpretation, the
traditional Luo Shu only reflects the "visible surface" of the
system.
Hidden behind it exists an expanded structure.
That is the 9×9 Matrix.
If the Luo Shu is like a two-dimensional diagram, then the
9×9 Matrix is a multi-dimensional operating model.
Rows, columns, diagonals, and the 369 orbits form a unified
resonance network.
According to Hồng Bàng Dịch, this is not just a number
matrix.
It is a model describing simultaneously:
• The laws of motion of nature; • The structure of
biological fields; • The resonance between humans and the Earth’s magnetic
field; • The principle of balance of Heaven – Earth – Humanity.
This is a development beyond the scope of classical Yi
studies toward an integrated model between philosophy, mathematics, geometry,
and systems theory.
Hong Bang I Ching – the restoration of the "Original
Operating System."
From all the above pieces, Hồng Bàng Dịch proposes the
central hypothesis.
The current I Ching may not be the starting point.
Rather, it is a systematized version of an even older
knowledge tradition.
In that hypothesis:
• Khoa Đẩu script is the source code layer; • Nòng Nọc
script is the energy symbol system; • The ancient Sa Pa stone field is the data
storage; • Đông Sơn bronze drums are the geometric map; • He Tu and Luo Shu are
the mathematical models; • The 9×9 Matrix is the expanded operating
architecture.
When all these elements are placed within the same reference
system, they form a whole that Hồng Bàng Dịch calls Hong Bang I Ching.
According to the view of this project, Hong Bang I Ching is
not a denial of the Zhou Yi or other Yi study traditions, but a hypothesis
aimed at tracing an older layer of knowledge, where symbols, numbers, geometry,
and laws of motion had not yet been separated into distinct fields.
This is also where the Law of the Fulcrum becomes the
unifying principle.
Every system, from a character, an I Ching hexagram, a
bronze drum, an architectural work, to a civilization, can only exist
sustainably when it maintains its own Fulcrum.
And according to Teacher Phạm Hùng Sơn’s view, the journey
to find the origin of the I Ching, in the end, is not only about tracing the
author of an ancient classic, but the journey to reclaim the spiritual Fulcrum
that once created the vitality of the Hồng Bàng civilization. This is the
deepest meaning of the entire research project.
II.4. THE IMPRINT OF THE VIETNAMESE DRAGON – DRAGON
ANCESTOR – DRAGON NAVEL: THE EARTH VEIN AXIS OF HỒNG BÀNG CIVILIZATION.
If the I Ching is the "Source Code" of Eastern
wisdom, then earth veins are the "Hardware" for that operating system
to function.
An operating system cannot work without hardware.
A civilization also cannot form without suitable land to
accumulate energy over thousands of years.
This is precisely why, throughout more than half a century
of field surveys, Teacher Phạm Hùng Sơn has always paid special attention to
regions called dragon veins, Tổ Rồng, Rốn Rồng, Cửa Trời (Heaven’s Gate), Địa
nhãn (Earth’s Eye)...
From the perspective of Hồng Bàng Dịch, these are not merely
folk feng shui concepts but points of convergence between the Earth’s
biological field and humanity’s information field.
In modern language, they are "Nodes" of the
planetary energy network.
If one looks at Vietnam’s territory on a topographic map, a
special phenomenon appears.
The entire Trường Sơn range is like a spine.
The major river systems are like the circulatory system.
The arc mountain ranges are like meridians.
The regions where rivers and mountains converge are like
vital points.
This led Teacher Phạm Hùng Sơn to propose the hypothesis:
A nation is also a living organism.
If humans have meridians,
then the country also has meridians.
If humans have vital points,
then the Earth also has vital points.
If humans have a heart,
then the nation also has a "Dragon Navel."
That is the place where the greatest energy of the entire
system accumulates.
In many research articles, the Teacher has repeatedly
mentioned earth vein regions stretching from Nghệ An, Thanh Hóa, the Northwest,
Sa Pa, Sơn La, Phú Thọ...
According to Hồng Bàng Dịch, these are not random points.
They lie on the same energy axis.
An axis connecting:
Heaven.
Earth.
Humanity.
This is precisely the Three Talents.
When the Three Talents are balanced,
the Fulcrum forms.
When the Fulcrum forms,
the entire system resonates.
This is the Law of the Fulcrum (The Law of the Fulcrum).
What is noteworthy is that most ancient cultural centers of
the Vietnamese people are located near river-mountain junctions.
Not only convenient for transportation.
Not only convenient for agriculture.
But also convenient for the formation of ritual centers.
This fully aligns with the principle:
Humans always choose places with stable energy to build
civilizations.
According to Hồng Bàng Dịch’s interpretation,
Dragon veins are not superstition.
Dragon veins are symbolic images of geological energy
fields.
Tổ Rồng is not only the place to bury ancestors.
It is the place preserving the collective memory of the
entire nation.
Rốn Rồng is not only a feng shui vital point.
It is the convergence point of biological information
fields.
When these points are disrupted,
not only does the environment change,
but culture also declines.
This is something history has witnessed many times.
II.5. MEANING IN THE CONTEMPORARY ERA: RESTORING ROOTS IS
NOT TO DISPUTE THE PAST BUT TO BUILD THE FUTURE.
There is a very important question.
If one day it is proven that the I Ching originated from Lạc
Việt civilization,
what benefits does that bring?
Is it only for pride?
Is it only to argue with historiography?
Is it only to claim ownership?
According to the view of Hồng Bàng Dịch,
the answer is completely different.
The most important thing is not the name.
The most important thing is to restore the thinking system.
A nation that loses its history
can still exist.
But a nation that loses its thinking system
will lose direction.
Then,
all creation must be borrowed.
All knowledge must be imported.
All values are measured by others’ standards.
That is truly losing one’s roots.
Teacher Phạm Hùng Sơn has repeatedly emphasized that:
to restore the nation,
one cannot only restore the economy.
Cannot only restore the military.
Cannot only restore science.
What needs to be restored first is
Consciousness.
To restore consciousness,
one must restore the roots.
To restore the roots,
one must restore the operating system of thought.
That is Hong Bang I Ching.
According to the Law of the Fulcrum,
every system that wants stability must have a Fulcrum.
Families have a Fulcrum.
Nations have a Fulcrum.
Cultures have a Fulcrum.
Humans also have a Fulcrum.
When the Fulcrum is lost,
everything spins out of control.
When the Fulcrum returns,
everything naturally balances.
This is not only a law of physics.

In today’s globalization context,
many nations face identity crises.
People become richer,
but more anxious.
There is more information,
but less wisdom.
More connections,
but more loneliness.
According to Hồng Bàng Dịch,
the deep cause lies in humanity gradually losing its
spiritual Fulcrum.
Therefore,
the study of the I Ching is no longer just ancient research.
It becomes a journey to reclaim the balance axis for modern
humans.
If Hong Bang I Ching truly contains universal principles of
balance,
then its value will not stop at the scope of Vietnam.
It can contribute to interdisciplinary dialogues between:
philosophy,
mathematics,
physics,
systems science,
cognitive science,
and civilization studies.
That is the long-term goal.
Not to replace any tradition,
but to add a new perspective to the treasure trove of human
knowledge.
III. CONCLUSION: THE JOURNEY TO FIND ROOTS IS THE JOURNEY
TO FIND THE FULCRUM.
This research article does not aim to affirm a final
conclusion for history.
History always needs continued research.
Archaeology always needs new discoveries.
Linguistics always needs new materials.
But what Teacher Phạm Hùng Sơn has opened has special value
in that:
it is a different approach.
A way of re-posing the question.
An invitation to re-examine things that were once taken for
granted.
Through the lens of Hong Bang I Ching and The Law of the
Fulcrum, the I Ching no longer appears merely as a divination book or an
ancient philosophical system, but as a model of thought about the balance
between Heaven – Earth – Humanity.
If the hypothesis about the Lạc Việt origin of the I Ching
continues to be researched and clarified with archaeological, linguistic, and
cultural evidence, then that will not only be a source of pride for the
Vietnamese people but also an important contribution to a better understanding
of the history of East Asian civilization formation.
The final point that Hồng Bàng Dịch wishes to convey does
not lie in who owns the I Ching.
What is more important is:
whether we understand the spirit of the I Ching or not.
Because if we only argue about origins,
but do not live according to the spirit of Central Harmony,
then the I Ching remains only symbols on paper.
On the contrary,
if each person knows how to build a solid Fulcrum for
themselves,
knows how to balance wisdom and ethics,
between science and humanity,
between tradition and creativity,
then the spirit of the I Ching will continue to live,
no matter how much the era changes.
The journey to trace roots is therefore not a journey of
turning one’s back on the world.
It is a journey of standing firmly on one’s own roots to
engage in equal dialogue with the world.
A nation can only contribute universal values when it first
understands itself clearly.
And if the Fulcrum is the law of all systems,
then reclaiming the cultural Fulcrum is also the condition
for a nation to step into the future on its own two feet.
