THE FULCRUM LAW - Axioms and Theorems of a Neutral
System.
PART II. THE THEOREMS.
Lesson 12. The Theorem of the Anchor Point and the
Fulcrum Point.
Lesson 12. The Theorem of the Anchor Point and the
Fulcrum Point.
The two lessons combine to form a very beautiful logical
pair:
Thanks to this, the Neutral System is not only “open,” but
open with direction; not only “stable,” but stable in order to evolve.
I. WHY DISTINGUISH BETWEEN THE ANCHOR POINT AND THE
FULCRUM POINT?
In the process of studying natural, social, and cognitive
systems, the two concepts of Anchor Point and Fulcrum Point are often used
interchangeably because both evoke the image of a point serving as the basis
for the existence of a system. However, their formal similarity obscures their
essential differences. This very confusion has prevented many people from
explaining why some systems maintain stability but cannot develop, while other
systems are constantly changing but ultimately lose their own identity.
The Fulcrum Law has shown that every transformation requires
a Fulcrum Point to organize and direct the forces. However, for a system to
develop sustainably, the Fulcrum Point alone is not enough. A system also needs
another element that helps it preserve its identity, maintain its direction,
and not be swept away by environmental changes. That element is the Anchor
Point.
If we compare it to a ship crossing the ocean, the anchor
does not help the ship move forward, but it prevents the ship from being swept
away by currents and storms when it needs to stop. Conversely, the rudder and
engine can propel the ship forward, but if it lacks the ability to hold its
position when necessary, the ship may still lose direction or drift into
dangerous waters. In a system, likewise, the Anchor Point helps the system
preserve itself, while the Fulcrum Point helps the system transcend itself.
This distinction is particularly important for the Neutral
System. A system that only knows how to preserve itself will gradually become
closed and stagnant. Conversely, a system that only knows how to change without
any point to preserve its core values will lose its identity and disintegrate
in the process of transformation. Therefore, sustainable development is not a
choice between stability or innovation, but the ability to correctly combine
the roles of the Anchor Point and the Fulcrum Point within the same whole.
It is from this requirement that the Theorem of the Anchor
Point and the Fulcrum Point was constructed to clearly establish the boundary
between the two concepts, while also supplementing an important link to the
Fulcrum Law. If the Anchor Point answers the question “How can the system not
lose its own identity?”, then the Fulcrum Point answers the question “How can
the system continue to evolve?”. Only when these two questions are resolved
simultaneously can a Neutral System be both stable and developing, both
preserving its essence and adapting to the ceaseless motion of the world.
II. WHAT IS THE ANCHOR POINT?
In every long-lasting system, alongside the mechanisms that
generate motion, there always exists an element that keeps the system from
losing its own identity in the face of changing circumstances. That element is
the Anchor Point.
If the Fulcrum Point organizes forces to create
transformation, then the Anchor Point ensures that this transformation always
occurs within the limits of the core identity. In other words, the Anchor Point
does not make the system stronger, but ensures the system does not deviate from
itself.
A ship can change its course, change its speed, and even
change its entire voyage. But when it needs to stop amid waves and winds, what
keeps the ship from being swept away by the current is not the engine or the
rudder, but the anchor. The anchor does not create motion, but creates the
necessary stability so that all subsequent motion remains meaningful.
This principle holds true not only in mechanics but also for
all living systems. In biology, the genome preserves the fundamental
characteristics of a species across many generations. In a nation, the founding
values and cultural foundations keep the people from losing their identity
despite many historical upheavals. In a business, mission and core values help
the organization adapt to the market without losing its reason for existence.
For each individual, conscience, character, and life principles are the Anchor
Point that prevents them from being swept away by fleeting temptations.
From the perspective of the Neutral System, the Anchor Point
is not conservatism or stubbornness. An anchor only demonstrates its value when
the ship needs to hold its position; when the journey continues, the anchor
must be raised so the ship can move forward. Similarly, the Anchor Point is not
created to hinder development, but to ensure that all development does not
cause the system to lose its essence.
Therefore, it can be summarized as follows: The Anchor
Point is the element that enables a system to maintain its identity, direction,
and continuity throughout the process of change.
If the Anchor Point is lost, the system may continue to
operate, but that operation will become directionless. The faster the change,
the farther the system drifts from itself. At that point, development is no
longer evolution, but only deformation.
That is also why, in every enduring civilization, what is
protected first is not power or wealth, but the foundational values that
constitute the identity of that civilization. These values form the Anchor
Point so that history can change while the essence of the civilization is still
preserved.
III. WHAT IS THE FULCRUM POINT?
If the Anchor Point answers the question of how a system
does not lose its own identity, then the Fulcrum Point answers the question of
how the system can continually evolve. These two concepts are not opposed but
complementary, forming two indispensable conditions for every sustainably
developing system.
According to the Fulcrum Law, the Fulcrum Point is not the
place where energy is generated, but the place where energy is organized and
directed. The Fulcrum Point itself does not create force, but when placed in
the right position, it arranges the forces existing within the system into a
new order, thereby creating transformation.
The Fulcrum Point is therefore not synonymous with power,
nor with resources. An organization may possess a great deal of resources but
still stagnate if it lacks a proper Fulcrum Point. Conversely, many systems
with very limited resources can still achieve breakthrough development when
they find a suitable Fulcrum Point to mobilize and resonate all scattered
resources.
In nature, a tiny seed can grow into a giant tree not
because the seed itself contains more energy than its surroundings, but because
it carries within itself an organizational structure that allows continuous
absorption and transformation of energy from soil, water, light, and air. In
society, an outstanding leader is not someone who personally creates all value,
but someone who knows how to create a Fulcrum Point so that the collective’s
capabilities are awakened and maximized. In education, a true teacher does not
transmit all knowledge to students, but helps students find their own inner
Fulcrum Point to learn, develop, and perfect themselves.
From the perspective of the Neutral System, the Fulcrum
Point always looks toward the future. It does not deny existing values, but
also does not allow the system to stop at current achievements. The role of the
Fulcrum Point is to open up new development possibilities, helping the system
adapt to ever-changing circumstances while still maintaining unity in the
transformation process.
Therefore, it can be summarized as follows: The Fulcrum
Point is the element that organizes and directs the forces both inside and
outside the system, creating the conditions for the system to continually
transform and evolve according to natural laws.
If there is no Fulcrum Point, the system can still exist
thanks to the Anchor Point, but that existence will gradually become closed and
stagnant. The system may preserve its identity, but it will no longer have
sufficient capacity to adapt to environmental changes. At that point, stability
is no longer the foundation of development but becomes an obstacle to
development itself.
That is why the Fulcrum Law always affirms that the strength
of a system does not lie in accumulating more and more force, but in the
ability to create the right Fulcrum Point so that all resources can converge,
resonate, and transform into development momentum.
IV. THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE ANCHOR POINT AND THE
FULCRUM POINT.
The Anchor Point and the Fulcrum Point are not two opposing
concepts, but two complementary functions within the same system. One ensures
the continuity of identity, the other creates the capacity for transformation
to adapt to new circumstances. Only when both are present and operate in
harmony can the system develop sustainably.
If there is only the Anchor Point without the Fulcrum Point,
the system will increasingly lean toward preservation. At first, stability is
an advantage, but over time, that advantage can turn into stagnation. The
system retains its form and original values, but gradually loses its ability to
adapt to environmental changes. At that point, identity is no longer the
foundation of development but becomes the limit of development itself.
Conversely, if there is only the Fulcrum Point without the
Anchor Point, the system will continuously change in search of adaptation.
However, without a solid enough foundation to provide direction, each
transformation carries the risk of moving the system away from its original
essence. The faster the innovation, the easier it is for the system to lose
direction. At that point, development is no longer evolution but merely change
without identity.
The Anchor Point therefore creates continuity, while the
Fulcrum Point creates development. One keeps the system always being itself,
the other helps the system always become a better version of itself. These two
functions do not exclude each other but always exist simultaneously in every
mature system.
This is also a general principle of nature. A tree can grow
ceaselessly because its roots are firmly anchored in the soil. A civilization
can last for thousands of years because it knows how to preserve its core
values while continually absorbing and creating. A person can only mature when
they both preserve their character and continually learn to perfect themselves.
In all these cases, the Anchor Point and the Fulcrum Point are always present
together, albeit in different forms.
From the perspective of the Neutral System, sustainable
development is not a choice between stability and innovation, but the unity of
these two seemingly opposing requirements. Stability creates conditions for
directed innovation; innovation makes stability always vibrant. A system truly
matures only when it uses the Anchor Point to maintain its identity and the
Fulcrum Point to guide its evolution.
Therefore, the principle of this relationship can be
summarized in two simple but foundational propositions: The Anchor Point
keeps the system from losing its own identity. The Fulcrum Point helps
the system continually transcend itself.
This very unity between the two principles forms the
foundation for the Theorem of the Anchor Point and the Fulcrum Point, while
also expanding the Fulcrum Law from a principle of transformation into a
principle of sustainable development for all systems.
“Stability creates conditions for innovation with direction;
innovation makes stability always vibrant.”
It connects very naturally with the spirit of the Neutral
System: not absolutizing “preservation” nor absolutizing “change,” but making
both conditions for each other’s existence.
V. THE THEOREM OF THE ANCHOR POINT AND THE FULCRUM POINT.
From the above analysis, it can be seen that the existence
and development of a system are not two separate processes. A system can only
develop when it first maintains the continuity of its identity; at the same
time, preserving identity only has meaning when the system still has the
capacity to adapt and evolve in the face of environmental changes. These two
requirements do not exclude each other but always define one another.
The Fulcrum Law has affirmed that every transformation
requires a Fulcrum Point to organize and direct the forces. However, this
transformation process can only lead to evolution if the system still maintains
a solid enough Anchor Point to ensure the unity of the entire development
process. Without the Anchor Point, transformation becomes directionless
fluctuation. Without the Fulcrum Point, stability gradually becomes stagnation.
From there, the Theorem of the Anchor Point and the Fulcrum
Point can be stated as follows: Every system that wants to develop
sustainably must simultaneously possess an Anchor Point to preserve its
identity and a Fulcrum Point to guide its transformation. Lacking either one,
the system will either lose its own identity or lose its capacity for
evolution.
This theorem adds a new dimension to the Fulcrum Law. While
previous theorems mainly explained the mechanisms of motion, balance,
resonance, and transformation of systems, the Theorem of the Anchor Point and
the Fulcrum Point establishes the conditions for those mechanisms to be
maintained over the long term. In other words, this is not only a theorem about
change, but also a theorem about enduring existence.
From that perspective, development is no longer understood
as a continuous negation of the past, nor as the protection of the status quo
against all change. Development is a process of both inheriting and creating;
both preserving foundational values and opening up new possibilities
appropriate to new circumstances. That is the fullest expression of a Neutral
System.
The entire content of the theorem can be condensed into one
simple principle: The Anchor Point determines who the system is. The
Fulcrum Point determines who the system will become.
These two propositions not only explain the relationship
between the Anchor Point and the Fulcrum Point, but also point out the general
law of all development processes: all genuine evolution begins with firmly
maintaining essence, and all essence only truly lives when it continually
evolves.
The Theorem of the Anchor Point and the Fulcrum Point is a
necessary consequence of the Neutral System.
VI. THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE THEOREM OF THE ANCHOR POINT
AND THE FULCRUM POINT IN THE NEUTRAL SYSTEM.
The Theorem of the Anchor Point and the Fulcrum Point not
only clarifies the roles of these two foundational concepts, but also perfects
an important principle of the Neutral System: all sustainable development must
simultaneously ensure the continuity of identity and the evolutionary capacity
of the system.
In many previous doctrines, stability and innovation were
often viewed as two opposing trends. Some approaches emphasized preserving
tradition to maintain order; others regarded continuous innovation as the sole
driving force of development. Both approaches reflect part of the truth, but
when absolutized, they risk leading the system into imbalance.
The Neutral System does not choose either extreme.
Neutrality does not mean standing still to maintain stability, nor does it mean
changing at all costs. Neutrality is the ability to firmly maintain core values
while continually adapting to new circumstances. It is the state in which
stability becomes the foundation of innovation, and innovation becomes the
means to protect stability.
In this sense, the Anchor Point and the Fulcrum Point are
the two operational pillars of the Neutral System. The Anchor Point helps the
system not dissolve in the process of integration, while the Fulcrum Point
helps the system not fall behind in the development process. One keeps the
system loyal to the values that constitute its identity; the other opens up the
possibility of receiving new things so that this identity continues to be
enriched and perfected.
This principle can be observed at every level of life. A
mature person is someone who both preserves their character and knows how to
learn. A developing organization is one that is both steadfast in its mission
and continually innovates its methods of operation. An enduring nation is one
that both preserves its cultural identity and has the capacity to absorb the
quintessence of humanity to move with the times. In all these cases,
development does not occur by choosing between preservation or innovation, but
by making these two requirements support each other.
From the perspective of the Fulcrum Law, this is also the
criterion for evaluating the level of maturity of a system. The more mature a
system is, the clearer its Anchor Point, the more accurate its Fulcrum Point,
and the more harmonious the coordination between these two elements. When the
Anchor Point is solid enough and the Fulcrum Point is accurate enough, the
system will have both the ability to withstand fluctuations and the ability to
create new development steps without losing its essence.
This is also why the Neutral System does not view stability
as the ultimate goal, nor innovation as the ultimate goal. The goal of the
Neutral System is to build systems capable of self-stabilizing in order to
self-evolve, and self-evolving in order to self-stabilize. This very cycle
creates the long-term vitality of all sustainable systems.
A strong system is not one that never changes. A strong
system is one that knows what must be preserved and what needs to be changed.
The Anchor Point helps determine what must be kept, while the Fulcrum Point
helps determine how it must be changed.
VII. CONNECTION WITH THE THREE-LEGGED SYSTEM.
The Theorem of the Anchor Point and the Fulcrum Point not
only expands the内涵
of the Fulcrum Law, but also clarifies the relationship between the three
pillars of the Neutral System. Each work approaches from a different angle, but
all aim toward the goal of explaining the path of sustainable development for
humanity and civilization.
The Mission of Maitreya Buddha poses the foundational
question: What must humans preserve so as not to lose their own identity? The
answer does not lie in clinging to form or transient values, but in preserving
the universal principles of truth, goodness, and wisdom. That is the spiritual
Anchor Point, the foundation that enables humans to face all changes while
still maintaining their direction.
Hong Bang Dich approaches from the perspective of the laws
of motion of the universe and the transformation of systems. These laws show
that development is never a static state, but always a continuous
transformation process between different conditions. These very laws of motion
form the theoretical basis for creating the Fulcrum Point, helping all
resources to be organized according to the natural order.
The Fulcrum Law continues to answer the question: How to
both preserve essence and continually develop? The answer lies in the
combination of the Anchor Point and the Fulcrum Point. The Anchor Point ensures
the system does not lose its roots, while the Fulcrum Point ensures the system
continually evolves. These two elements merge into the operating mechanism of a
Neutral System.
Looking at the whole, the three works do not repeat each
other but complement one another across three different layers of the same
cognitive system. One work establishes the goal, one explains the laws, and one
indicates the operating mechanism. This linkage creates a unified whole in
which philosophy, laws, and methods are inseparable and illuminate one another.
This relationship can be summarized in a continuous logical
chain: The Mission of Maitreya Buddha determines what needs to be preserved.
Hong Bang Dich points out the laws of transformation. The Fulcrum Law explains
the mechanism so that preservation and transformation can coexist within a
Neutral System.
Thanks to this, the three-legged system not only explains
why development is necessary and according to what laws, but also answers a
question of decisive significance for every civilization: How to develop
without losing one’s own identity?
VIII. CONCLUSION.
The Theorem of the Anchor Point and the Fulcrum Point
affirms that sustainable development is never built on a single factor. Every
system that wants to exist for a long time must simultaneously solve two
seemingly opposing but actually closely linked requirements: maintaining
identity and continually evolving.
If one only knows how to preserve without knowing how to
transform, the system will gradually close itself off and lose its adaptive
capacity. If one only knows how to innovate without a foundation to preserve,
the system will develop without direction and ultimately lose its own identity.
Therefore, longevity is not the result of conservatism, nor the result of
continuous change, but the result of knowing how to harmoniously combine the
Anchor Point and the Fulcrum Point.
From that perspective, the Fulcrum Law is no longer merely a
doctrine about the operating mechanisms of systems, but becomes a general
principle of development. Every evolutionary process, from the individual to
the organization, from the nation to civilization, must begin by correctly
identifying what needs to be preserved and what needs to be changed. When the
Anchor Point is solid enough and the Fulcrum Point is accurate enough,
stability will become the foundation of innovation, and innovation will become
the driving force to protect and enrich identity.
This is also the core spirit of the Neutral System.
Neutrality is not a state of standing between two poles, but the art of making
the two poles support each other. In the Neutral System, preservation does not
oppose development; development does not negate preservation. These two
processes coexist, nourish each other, and together aim toward the perfection
of the entire system.
The Theorem of the Anchor Point and the Fulcrum Point
therefore not only explains a law of development, but also suggests a universal
governance principle: every correct decision must begin by clearly
distinguishing what is the unchanging foundation and what is the method that
needs innovation. When this boundary is established, the system will have
enough wisdom to adapt to all circumstances without losing its essence.
The entire spirit of the theorem can be condensed into the
following four propositions: The Anchor Point keeps the system from losing
its own identity. The Fulcrum Point helps the system continually
transcend itself. The Anchor Point determines who the system is. The
Fulcrum Point determines who the system will become.
This is not only the relationship between two concepts, but
also the general law of all living systems. A system truly matures only when it
knows how to hold firmly to its roots in order to reach toward the future, and
knows how to head toward the future without ever leaving its roots.
A civilization is not recognized by what it changes the
most, but by what it is determined to preserve through all changes. It is also
not evaluated by what it preserves the most, but by its ability to turn those
values into momentum for the future. The Anchor Point preserves the roots. The
Fulcrum Point opens the way for evolution. When these two elements are both
present, development is no longer a choice between the past and the future, but
becomes a bridge connecting the past with the future within a Neutral System.
