How to Read Hong Bang Yi and the Law of the Fulcrum?
DIALOGUE BETWEEN HONG BANG YI, THE LAW OF THE FULCRUM AND
MODERN SCIENCE.
Lesson 4: The Three Levels of the Neutral System: Data,
Hypothesis and Model.
I. Raising the Issue: Cognitive Chaos When Equating
Different Levels of Cognition in an Interdisciplinary System.
When
stepping into the synthetic intellectual space of intersecting research
works—where ancient Vietnamese cultural heritage, Eastern mystical wisdom, and
the systemic thinking of modern science converge—any reader or researcher can
easily fall into a state of bewilderment, confusion, and cognitive chaos.
This
situation stems from a core cause: modern people have not yet been equipped
with a sufficiently sharp optical system to clearly distinguish the levels of
discourse. When approaching a monumental work, readers are often submerged
between, on the one hand, field materials, historical relics, and real-life
witnesses; on the other hand, exploratory conjectures of a hypothetical nature
aimed at opening up the gaps of ancient history; and, on yet another side,
abstract thinking tools, mathematical models, and multi-dimensional spatial
matrices used to simulate laws.
Precisely
because they cannot demarcate that fragile yet solid boundary, readers very
easily fall into a harmful confusion: they equate an abstract thinking tool
(such as a matrix or an interpretive model) with a rigid material reality, or
hastily reject an entire system merely because they find a hypothesis that has
not yet been proven by narrow experimental means.
The
issue urgently posed for the entire process of knowledge reception is that we
are compelled to establish a clear three-level cognitive structure of the Neutral
System. This structure will serve as an accurate methodological “filter,” a
supreme discipline of reading—helping the reader precisely identify which level
of thinking they are standing on: the level of objective data, the level of
exploratory hypothesis, or the level of structural model. Only when this
three-level filter is thoroughly understood can dialogues between the ancient
and the modern, between the mystical and science, take place on the foundation
of the utmost transparency, fairness, and clarity.
II. The First Level: Data (Raw Data & Fieldwork
Evidence) — The Foundation of Field Practice.
In
the three-level cognitive structure of the Neutral System, if there is no solid
foundation rooted deeply in the soil of practical reality, every theoretical
edifice or macroscopic model, however splendid, remains nothing more than
castles built on sand. The first, most foundational level, and the one of
absolute objectivity, is precisely the Data Level (Raw Data & Fieldwork
Evidence).
The
nature of the data level is not subjective speculation or abstract mathematical
models drawn by humans. It is the entire body of raw materials, the objective
realities that have existed and continue to exist in the historical soil of the
motherland: from tombs, temples, and shrines, inscriptions carved on metal and
stone, archaeological artifacts, to folk songs, proverbs, myths circulating
among the people, and especially the results of thousands of kilometers of
actual fieldwork that researchers—such as Điện Bà Tây Ninh through her
dedicated journeys across Tây Ninh, Thất Sơn, Tà Lơn, or throughout the three
regions of the country—have directly measured, recorded, touched, and
witnessed.
The
data level serves as the foundation of field practice. It provides the
most primitive and authentic raw material for the entire research process. A
genuine researcher cannot sit in a closed room and reshape history according to
personal will; they must return to the land, to the artifacts, to living witnesses,
and to the cultural sediments that remain after a thousand years of upheaval.
Data is the anchor that keeps thinking from floating off into groundless
metaphysical illusions. It affirms the authenticity of the starting point,
proving that the research work is built upon a real foundation of reality,
rooted deeply in the breath and the source of the sacred soul of the Lạc Hồng
rivers and mountains.
Respecting
raw data is the supreme scientific attitude, the obligatory first step before
the human mind wishes to soar to the higher levels of hypothesis and model.
III. The Second Level: Hypothesis — The Bridge of
Exploration and Self-Adjustment.
When
the data level has driven its solid stakes into the practical soil of fieldwork
and research, human thinking cannot merely stop at gazing upon the scattered
fragments of the past. In order to fill the enormous gaps left by great
cultural purges, wars, and a thousand years of Northern domination—where feudal
dynasties once deliberately erased, distorted, or assimilated the indigenous
sources of knowledge—we are compelled to ascend to the second cognitive level:
the Hypothesis Level.
If
data is the rough earth and stone beneath our feet, then hypothesis is the
bridge spanning the abysses of history—reasoned conjectures, highly exploratory
proposals built through the painstaking synthesis of ancient texts, logical
reasoning, and practical experience.
The
supreme nature of hypothesis within the Neutral System is neither rigid
dogmatic creed nor self-proclaimed eternal truth. Hypothesis is an invitation,
a courageous exploration into lands no one has yet cleared. It is where Điện Bà
Tây Ninh and the predecessors put forward pivotal conjectures: the hypothesis
that the Luo Shu and the Book of Changes originally had their primal roots in
the ancient Vietnamese civilization of the South rather than being the
exclusive monopoly of the North; or the hypothesis concerning the mechanism by
which geographical energy nodes (the suppression of dragon veins) affect the
rise and fall of lineages and the destiny of the nation.
The
greatest characteristic of a genuine hypothesis lies in its openness and
capacity for self-adjustment. It never forces reality to submit to
subjective will. On the contrary, true to the spirit of the Theorem of
Self-Adjustment, a hypothesis always keeps its wings open, ready to refine,
narrow, expand, or courageously step back to make way for deeper insights the
moment richer and more accurate new fieldwork data appears.
Hypothesis
is a flexible connecting bridge that does not allow the human mind to sink into
the passivity of data, yet also prevents it from sliding into groundless
metaphysical illusions. It keeps the current of research always flowing,
surging with the breath of discovery, and maintains scientific integrity amid
the profound depths of the mystical path.
IV. The Third Level: Model — The Structural Framework and
Macro-Interpretive Tool.
When
thinking has passed through the rough soil of objective data and crossed the
flexible exploratory bridge of hypothesis, we formally lay hands upon the most
brilliant and refined peak within the three-level structure of the Neutral
System: the Model Level. This is the most wondrous space of
intersection, where ancient Eastern wisdom fully converges with advanced
mathematics and the systemic thinking of the modern age.
The
nature of a model in this system is neither a naked physical reality that can
be grasped by hand, nor lifeless, soulless numbers lying on paper. The model is
precisely a thinking tool (heuristic tool), an abstract logical
structure constructed with a single mission: to organize, simulate, visualize,
and illuminate the complex, subtle relationships that the naked eye or purely
linear thinking can never grasp.
Consider
its powerful manifestations in the research space: When Hong Bang Yi
deploys 9×9 square matrix structures, multi-line hexagrams of the Changes, or
applies extended complex mathematics such as Octonions and Quaternions; or when
the Law of the Fulcrum describes the shifting of energy and information
through fulcrum points and anchor points, we are confronting the highest interpretive
models.
Many
readers often fall into a fatal misconception when they believe the author is
using mathematics or matrices to “prove” in the narrow experimental sense of
classical physics. That is a complete confusion of cognitive levels.
Mathematics, matrices, or diagrams here are employed as the language of
structural correlation modeling. The universe is boundless, complex,
multi-dimensional, and subtle to such a degree that ordinary linear linguistic
thinking is entirely powerless to describe it. Therefore the author borrows
advanced mathematical structures as a logical “skeleton” to represent the
simultaneous movement of streams of information, energy, and consciousness.
From
this we draw a supreme methodological principle: The model is not reality.
A geographic map, however detailed, can never replace the forest or the
mountain in real life. A matrix or a diagram is only a thinking map that helps
us locate energy streams and identify points of impact within the system; it
itself is not the cosmos. Equating the model with reality pushes one into the
mire of formalism, where the reader becomes intoxicated and fanatical about dry
numbers and symbols while completely forgetting the living soul of practice
that continues to beat behind them.
The
model is the pair of wings that allows thinking to reach the realm of the
eternal, yet it always requires the firm anchoring of hypothesis and the
authentic source from fieldwork data.
V. Conclusion: Organic Unity within the Neutral System and
the Attitude of Transparent Reading.
Looking
back over the entire methodological demarcation, we realize that the clear
division of the three cognitive levels—Data, Hypothesis, and Model—is not a dry
act of fragmentation or dissection, but precisely the act of sharpening the
sword of intellect. It is the supreme cognitive discipline that enables us to
go deep, go far, and walk truly firmly through the vast forest of the
predecessors’ knowledge.
The
comprehensive strength of the Neutral System lies precisely in the organic
and dialectical unity among these three levels:
•
Without Data rooted deeply in the practical soil of
fieldwork, every doctrine is but a drifting cloud without roots.
•
Without Hypothesis courageously spanning the deep
chasms of history, thinking will forever mark time, gnawing at scattered
fragments.
•
And without the macroscopic Model empowered by
mathematics and multi-dimensional spatial matrices, the cosmos and the flow of
energy will forever remain an undefined mystery beyond human reach.
These
three levels interweave tightly, complement one another, and form a perfect
cognitive engine—where truth does not reside in rigid dogma, but in the
unceasing flow of awakening and self-adjustment.
It
is time for genuine researchers to step into the temple of the ancestors’
wisdom, into the space of Hong Bang Yi and the Law of the Fulcrum,
with the most luminous, dignified, and transparent attitude of reading. Do not
bring the narrow lens of reductionism or the superficiality of binary thinking
to pass judgment. Equip yourself with the sharp three-level filter, so that you
know when to touch the mother earth of data, when to soar across the bridge of
hypothesis, and when to ascend into the exquisite space of the model.
Let argumentation generate strength,
let authenticity generate the fulcrum, and let the current of the sacred soul
of the Lạc Hồng rivers and mountains continue to blaze and reach far, in rhythm
with the heroic breath of the new era!
Thank you for
following this journey of thought.
