THE LAW OF THE FULCRUM – Axioms and Theorems of a Neutral Harmony System.
INTRODUCTION.
From Building Theory
to Returning to Reality.
From Lesson 1 to Lesson
24, we have traveled a relatively long journey. It has not merely been a
process of understanding a new concept, but the gradual formation of a
structure of thought centered on the Law of the Fulcrum of Master Phạm Hùng
Sơn.
From questions about the
foundation of a system, we moved to the Axioms. From the Axioms we developed
the Theorems. From the Theorems we examined the Corollaries. And from those
Corollaries we began to see the possibilities of applying the Law of the Fulcrum
across many fields: the human being, education, medicine, governance, healing,
conflict resolution, community development, national development, and human
civilization.
That journey may be
described by the sequence:
Axiom → Theorem → Corollary → Application.
At this point an
unavoidable question arises:
Can what we have constructed return to reality and explain concrete cases?
A theory may be presented
with great internal rigor. Yet if it is valid only within the concepts it
itself has generated, it has not completed its journey. A system of thought
truly comes alive only when it is capable of returning to the concrete
phenomena of life, recognizing their inner structure, and revealing the
laws of movement that we may previously have failed to see systematically.
This is precisely why we
now enter Part V – ILLUSTRATION. And for the same reason, the 24
Narratives will be re-examined from an entirely different perspective.
We will not rewrite the
24 Narratives.
We will not retell what happened in each of them.
Instead, we place them before the Law of the Fulcrum as case studies.
Each case becomes a
question posed to the system:
Where is the Fulcrum?
Where did the system lose its balance?
In which direction has energy been guided?
How has information acted?
Has feedback been received?
Does the system possess the capacity for self-adjustment?
And finally:
What has returned the system to a state of balance, Neutral Harmony, or a
new state of development?
This is the test that
Lesson 25 sets before us.
I. The 24 Narratives – From Isolated Stories to Case
Studies.
A Narrative, if read
merely as a story, has a beginning, a development, and an ending. But when
viewed through the lens of the Law of the Fulcrum, the Narrative becomes a system
in motion.
In any system we may ask
about: the initial state, the acting forces, the distribution of energy,
information, interaction, feedback, imbalance, the capacity for adjustment, and
the final state.
The most important task
is to locate the position from which the entire movement of the system can be
oriented. That is the question of the Fulcrum.
An event may be visible
on the surface.
A behavior may be visible on the surface.
A result may be visible on the surface.
Yet the Law of the
Fulcrum asks a deeper question:
What is causing the entire system to move in that direction?
This question leads us
from phenomenon to structure, from what happens to what
governs the happening, and from result back to the Fulcrum that
creates the direction of that result.
This is how the 24
Narratives are re-read in Lesson 25.
II. Not All Narratives Are Alike – Yet a Common Structure
May Be Found.
The 24 Narratives belong
to different circumstances, fields, and levels.
Some concern the individual.
Some concern health and life.
Some concern cognition.
Some concern community.
Some concern governance.
Some concern conflict and reconciliation.
Some concern broader issues of society and the nation.
If one looks only at
surface content, these cases appear very different.
But the Law of the Fulcrum does not seek similarity of form. It seeks the
inner operating structure.
A human being and a
community are not the same.
A body and a nation are even less the same.
Yet if both are systems capable of receiving information, distributing energy,
responding to the environment, and self-adjusting, they may still be examined
under certain common principles.
That is the meaning of
seeking the Fulcrum: not to make everything the same, but to discover principles
that can appear across different systems.
III. The Central Question: Where Is the Fulcrum?
If one question runs
through the whole of Lesson 25, it is this:
WHERE IS THE FULCRUM?
When a system loses
balance, the natural human reaction is to look for the immediate cause: Who did
it? What happened? Which impact produced the result?
The Law of the Fulcrum
takes us one step further. It asks:
Which Fulcrum has oriented the entire process?
Because if the Fulcrum is
the position from which the direction of energy is established, then dealing
only with external manifestations may leave the deeper structure of the system
unchanged.
We may correct a
behavior, yet the behavior may return.
We may resolve a symptom, yet another symptom may appear.
We may intervene in a result, yet if the Fulcrum remains unchanged, the system
may continue to produce similar results.
Therefore:
To change results sustainably, one must find the Fulcrum that is creating
the system’s direction of movement.
This is what the 24
Narratives will be re-examined to test.
IV. From the Fulcrum to the Chain of Systemic Movement.
In earlier lessons we
gradually formed an important chain:
Fulcrum → Information → Energy → Behavior → Result → Feedback → Knowledge →
Self-adjustment → Evolution.
This is not a formula to
be imposed on every case. It is a framework of questions for reading a case.
When a Narrative is
placed within this framework, we do not ask:
“How can we prove that the Law of the Fulcrum is correct?”
We ask:
“In this particular case, does the structure of movement actually appear in
the way the Law of the Fulcrum describes?”
If there is
correspondence, we record the correspondence.
If there is only partial correspondence, we record the partial correspondence.
If the data are insufficient for a conclusion, we state clearly that the data
are insufficient.
And if a case appears that does not fit, that case must also be retained.
A mature theoretical
system must know not only
“What can I explain?”
but also
“What can I not yet explain?”
V. From “Fulcrum” to “Balance”.
Once the Fulcrum has been
identified, the next question is:
What is that Fulcrum doing to the system?
According to the
structure of the Law of the Fulcrum, the Fulcrum is not simply a stationary
position. It is the place that orients movement.
If the Fulcrum is
correct, the system has the conditions to form balance.
If the Fulcrum is shifted, imbalance may appear.
Therefore, when reading a
Narrative we do not merely look for “the incident.” We look for the
relationship between the incident and the Fulcrum.
A system may lose balance
not because it lacks energy, but because its energy is being guided in the
wrong direction.
A person may fail not because of lack of ability.
An organization may weaken not because of lack of resources.
A community may disintegrate not because of lack of people.
The deeper question is:
Around which Fulcrum are those resources being gathered?
This is where the Law of
the Fulcrum begins to generate a different way of reading the Narratives.
VI. From Balance to the Capacity for Self-Adjustment.
A living system cannot
rely solely on a fixed state of balance. The environment changes, information
changes, conditions change, relationships change. Therefore a system that truly
possesses the capacity to endure must have the ability to self-adjust.
This is the point at
which earlier studies of feedback become especially important.
Feedback does not
automatically produce evolution. Feedback becomes knowledge only when it is
received by a correct Fulcrum. And knowledge truly matters only when it leads
to the capacity for self-adjustment.
Thus, when reading the 24
Narratives we do not stop at the question “What was the final result?” We must
continue to ask:
“After that result, what did the system learn?”
If the system knows how
to adjust, it has the capacity to evolve.
If the system cannot receive feedback, it may repeat the same imbalance.
In this way a Narrative
does not merely recount an event that occurred. It may show us whether
a system learns or fails to learn from what has happened to it.
VII. The Fulcrum and Neutral Harmony.
This is perhaps the
deepest level of the entire reading.
The ultimate goal of a
system is not necessarily the elimination of all differences. Neutral Harmony
does not mean that everything must become the same. Neutral Harmony is the
capacity of different components to coexist within a structure that does not destroy
one another.
Therefore, when analyzing
Narratives that contain opposition, conflict, or imbalance, we will not merely
ask:
Which side won?
Which side lost?
We will ask:
Which Fulcrum can enable the parties to find a new state of operation
together?
This is also the logic
developed in Lesson 22 on conflict resolution:
Common Fulcrum → Dialogue → Understanding → Trust → Cooperation →
Self-adjustment → Sustainable development.
If a Narrative reveals
this structure, it becomes a case of particular value for the Law of the
Fulcrum.
VIII. The 24 Narratives – 24 Times of Placing the Law
Before Reality.
From here the meaning of
Lesson 25 becomes clearer.
We do not have 24 stories
to retell.
We have 24 cases with which to ask questions.
Each Narrative is an
occasion to ask:
Where is the Fulcrum?
How is energy being guided?
Where did imbalance begin?
How is feedback being received?
Does the system self-adjust?
And finally, has it found a new state of balance or Neutral Harmony?
If these questions
continually enable us to recognize homologous structures across very different
cases, then the value of the Law of the Fulcrum lies not merely in offering a
new way of expression. It lies in its capacity to create a method of reading
systems.
And that is what Lesson
25 must seek.
IX. The Map of Illustration of the 24 Narratives.
After establishing the
method of reading, the next question is not “Which Narrative proves the Law of
the Fulcrum?” but:
Across the entire set of 24 Narratives, which principles of the Law of the
Fulcrum have been reflected by reality many times, under different forms?
This is the moment when
we may look back at all 24 Narratives not according to the chronological order
of events, but according to the operating structure of systems.
A noteworthy pattern
begins to appear. Narratives that differ in characters, circumstances, and
fields may still be reduced to a few basic forms of movement:
There is a system → there is a Fulcrum → there is distribution of energy →
there is orienting information → there is feedback → there is imbalance or
transformation → there is the capacity for self-adjustment → there is a result.
In other words, what the
Law of the Fulcrum seeks does not lie on the surface of each story. It lies in the
structure beneath the story.
And it is precisely that
structure that allows us to begin classifying the illustrations.
X. Six Foundational Illustrations.
First Illustration:
Every system has a Fulcrum.
This is the foundational axiom. Whether the object of study is a human being, a
family, an organization, a community, or a nation, we must be able to ask:
What is currently serving as the orienting center for this entire system?
Importantly, the Fulcrum
need not be a physical object. It may be a principle, a belief, a value, a
person, a decision, a governing mechanism, an information center, or a
cognitive structure from which the whole system organizes its behavior.
This is what enables the
concept of the Fulcrum to expand from physics to living systems and social
systems. In a mechanical system one may see the fulcrum geometrically. In a
living system the fulcrum is often hidden within the control structure.
Second Illustration:
Imbalance begins with a shift of the Fulcrum.
If the first axiom tells us that a Fulcrum exists, the next axiom raises a more
important question:
What happens when the Fulcrum is shifted?
According to the
structure of the Law of the Fulcrum, imbalance does not necessarily begin with
the final consequence. It may begin with a deviation at the control position.
When the Fulcrum shifts,
energy continues to move, but it is no longer optimally oriented. Information
continues to be transmitted, but may be misinterpreted. Feedback continues to
appear, but may not be received. The system continues to function, yet the more
it functions, the farther it may move from the state of Neutral Harmony.
This is a crucial point
when reading the Narratives. The surface of a crisis often appears very late.
Before that, a chain of small deviations may already have existed:
Shifted Fulcrum → shifted information → shifted action → ignored feedback →
increasing imbalance → crisis appears.
Third Illustration:
The Fulcrum does not merely maintain balance – it orients energy.
A simple understanding of the fulcrum may lead one to think its only task is
“to keep the system standing still.” The Law of the Fulcrum goes further.
The Fulcrum does not merely maintain balance. It orients the movement of
energy.
This is why the same
resources can produce completely different results in two systems. The problem
is not always how much energy exists. Sometimes the problem is:
Where is the energy being directed?
Where is it being amplified or extinguished?
Who or what decides the direction of its movement?
What mechanism turns energy into action?
When the Narratives are
read in this light, a consistent principle emerges:
Correctly changing the Fulcrum can produce a far greater change than merely
increasing pressure on the system.
Fourth Illustration:
Information does not by itself create change.
This is a particularly important point developed in Lessons 13 and 14. We
established the chain:
Fulcrum → Information → Energy → Behavior → Result → Evolution.
With the role of feedback
the chain expands:
Feedback → Knowledge → Self-adjustment.
This allows us to re-read
the Narratives from a very different angle. A system may receive a great deal
of information and still not change. Why? Because information becomes a
transforming factor only when it enters a Fulcrum capable of receiving and
processing it correctly.
This is one of the points
that distinguishes the Law of the Fulcrum from the simplistic notion that “more
information automatically produces progress.” Reality is not so simple. There
are systems that know a great deal yet continue to repeat old mistakes. There
are individuals who receive abundant advice yet do not change. There are
organizations with complete reports that still repeat failure. There are
societies rich in data that still cannot find a direction.
The problem is not only a
lack of information. It may lie in the Fulcrum that receives the information.
Fifth Illustration:
Feedback becomes knowledge only when the system can self-adjust.
This is where Lesson 14 becomes an important link in re-reading the 24
Narratives.
Feedback does not automatically produce evolution.
Feedback becomes knowledge only when it is received by a correct Fulcrum. And
knowledge has meaning only when it leads to self-adjustment.
A mature system is not
one that never receives negative feedback. On the contrary, it is a system
capable of:
receiving feedback → understanding feedback → adjusting → changing state →
generating new feedback.
This is the loop of
self-adjustment. When reading the 24 Narratives we must pay special attention
to those moments when a system stands before feedback and faces two
possibilities:
Either continue to defend the old state,
or change the Fulcrum in order to create a new state.
The difference between
these two paths may determine the entire outcome of a story. From this we
arrive at a more important recognition:
The Fulcrum is not an immutable position of the system; in an open system,
the capacity to recognize and correct the Fulcrum is itself part of the
evolutionary process.
Sixth Illustration: A
correct Fulcrum does not replace the system – it awakens the system’s capacity
for self-operation.
One of the most important ideas developed throughout the previous lessons is:
The Fulcrum does not replace the system. The Fulcrum enables the system to
operate better by itself.
This is a strong
criterion for reading the Narratives. A solution truly consistent with the Law
of the Fulcrum need not create long-term dependence on an external agent. On
the contrary, it must gradually restore the internal capacity of the system.
This is especially clear
in the applications to healing, education, governance, and conflict resolution
that we have examined.
A good teacher does not live the student’s life.
A correct leader does not do the work of the entire organization.
A healing supporter cannot live in place of the body.
A mediator cannot build trust on behalf of the parties.
A good policy cannot run society forever by command.
In all these cases the
role of the Fulcrum is:
to create the conditions for the system to recover its capacity for
self-organization, self-adjustment, and self-development.
If the 24 Narratives show
many different cases converging on this principle, that will be one of the most
important illustrations of the entire system.
XI. From Individual Illustrations to Convergence and
Unified Structure.
At this point we can
recognize something important: a single Narrative may not say a great deal. But
the repetition of the same structure across many different Narratives is
an entirely different matter.
If in different fields:
then we are no longer
looking at separate stories. We begin to see a recurring pattern of
operation.
And it is precisely that
recurring pattern that Lesson 25 must seek—not 24 “miracles,” not 24
coincidences, but:
A common structure that can be recognized across many different
circumstances.
If that structure is
clear enough, Lesson 25 will have fulfilled its role:
to bring the Law of the Fulcrum from a theoretical system back to practice,
and from practice back to test the theoretical system.
XII. The Theorems Examined Through the 24 Narratives.
Theorem of Balance:
Balance is not a state of immobility.
In the system constructed in earlier lessons, the Theorem of Balance holds a
special place. If balance is understood simply as “the absence of fluctuation,”
we easily misunderstand the nature of a living system.
A living system is always
in motion. A person is always changing. An organization is always changing. A
society is always changing. The universe itself is not a static structure.
Therefore what must be
examined through the Narratives is not:
“Does the system fluctuate or not?”
but:
“Does the system possess the capacity to maintain balance while still
fluctuating?”
This is a fundamental
difference. Balance in the sense of the Law of the Fulcrum is not the
elimination of movement. It is the capacity to adjust movement toward a more
appropriate state.
A Narrative truly has
value for the Theorem of Balance only when we can recognize the process:
Imbalance → recognition → adjustment → re-establishment of balance.
Theorem of
Transformation: No balance is identical to the previous balance.
This is a point of particular interest when using the 24 Narratives as
illustrations. If the system merely returns to exactly the same previous state,
we may call that recovery. But if after the process of adjustment the system
reaches a new state more appropriate to the new circumstances, that is already transformation.
This leads to an
important observation:
Balance is not the end-point of movement. Balance is the foundation upon
which a new state can form.
Therefore, when reading
the Narratives we do not merely ask “Has the problem been solved?” We must also
ask:
“After the solution, has the system become different from what it was before?”
If it has, then the
movement is not mere repair. It is transformation. And this is where the
Theorem of Balance connects with the Theorem of Transformation. The two
theorems do not stand side by side as independent propositions. They form a
chain:
Balance creates the conditions for transformation.
Transformation in turn creates a new state of balance.
Thus the system does not
move in a straight line. It moves through cycles:
shift → adjustment → balance → transformation → new balance.
Theorem of Resonance:
When Fulcrums begin to interact.
A single system is already complex. Yet a human being does not live alone.
People interact with families, families with communities, communities with
organizations, organizations with society, and society itself lies within
larger systems.
Therefore, when analyzing
the 24 Narratives, special attention must be paid to one phenomenon:
The Fulcrum of one system can affect the Fulcrum of another system.
When two systems meet, it
is not only energy or information that is exchanged. The Fulcrums themselves
may resonate or conflict. If they resonate, coordination becomes easier.
If they oppose each other, the same resources may generate conflict.
This expands the Law of
the Fulcrum from the individual domain into the relational domain. From here
one may understand more deeply certain Narratives concerning dialogue,
reconciliation, leadership, governance, community, and development.
Success does not
necessarily come from one side winning and the other losing. A more sustainable
system may appear when the parties find a common Fulcrum.
This is also the spirit
developed earlier:
Reconciliation does not necessarily begin by determining who must yield to
whom; it begins by finding a Fulcrum to which the parties can jointly orient
themselves.
Theorem of Neutral
Harmony: A common Fulcrum is not the erasure of difference.
Here a very common misunderstanding must be avoided. “Neutral Harmony” does not
mean that everything must become the same. If all differences are erased, what
remains is no longer a living system.
Neutral Harmony is the
capacity for differences to coexist within a more balanced structure.
Therefore, when a Narrative shows that two different forces can finally
cooperate, we should not merely ask:
“Have they agreed with each other?”
We should ask:
“Have they found a Fulcrum broad enough for both to orient themselves
toward?”
This is the difference
between:
a point of agreement
and
a point of convergence.
A point of agreement may
resolve only a specific issue. A point of convergence has the capacity to
create a new foundation for the relationship. If the Narratives show that
sustainability appears when the parties find a common foundation rather than
forcing one another to accept a single viewpoint, that is a practical
expression of the Theorem of Neutral Harmony.
Theorem of the Open
System: The Fulcrum cannot be separated from the environment.
Another finding that needs to be examined in the 24 Narratives is:
No system exists in complete isolation.
Human beings are affected
by their environment. Organizations are affected by society. Society is
affected by economics, culture, technology, and history. Therefore a Fulcrum
that is correct in one set of circumstances may not retain the same form in another.
What matters is the principle,
not the immutability of its expression. This is the meaning of regarding the
system as an open system. It receives information. It exchanges energy
and resources. It receives feedback from the environment. And it must possess
the capacity for self-adjustment.
Thus the Law of the
Fulcrum is not a closed formula. It operates in a world of constant exchange.
The Fulcrum helps the system maintain its direction while the system remains
capable of adapting to circumstances.
XIII. From Feedback to Self-Adjustment – The Complete
Feedback Loop.
This is perhaps one of
the most important links that joins the entire system together.
Feedback does not automatically produce evolution.
A system may receive a
great deal of feedback and still continue to repeat its mistakes. The problem
does not lie in a lack of information. The problem lies in the capacity to receive
and process information from the correct Fulcrum.
Therefore the complete
operational chain must be seen as:
Fulcrum → Information → Energy → Behavior → Result → Feedback → Knowledge →
Self-adjustment → Development.
This is no longer a
simple linear sequence. It is a feedback loop. The result of the
previous cycle becomes information for the next cycle. If the Fulcrum is
appropriate, feedback can become knowledge. Knowledge enables the system to
self-adjust. Self-adjustment creates a new state. And the new state generates
new feedback.
Thus evolution is not
the mere accumulation of experience. Evolution is the capacity to turn
feedback into the capacity for self-adjustment. This is one of the
points that the 24 Narratives can help us see most clearly.
XIV. A Stricter Standard: Illustration Is Not the Same as
Proof.
At this point a very
important methodological limit must be stated.
We should not say:
“The 24 Narratives have proved that the Law of the Fulcrum is true.”
Such a statement exceeds
what a collection of case studies can achieve. More accurately we must say:
The 24 Narratives provide real cases with which to compare, test the
consistency, and examine the explanatory power of the Law of the Fulcrum.
This distinction is
crucial. A single matching case is not sufficient to prove a universal law. But
many cases from different fields, if they can all be explained by a unified
structure, significantly increase the value of the hypothesis.
Therefore Lesson 25
should not confer upon the 24 Narratives a role greater than their actual
capacity. On the contrary, this very caution makes the ILLUSTRATION
section more rigorous.
We do not say:
“This is absolute proof.”
We say:
“These are real cases that allow us to bring the theory into comparison.”
And that is the research
spirit toward which the entire system is oriented.
XV. The 24 Narratives as 24 Tests of a System.
At this point we may view
Lesson 25 from a deeper angle. The 24 Narratives need not correspond one-to-one
with 24 theorems. A single Narrative may simultaneously contain many layers of
the Law of the Fulcrum. Some cases highlight the Fulcrum. Some show imbalance.
Some display transformation. Some clarify resonance. Some reveal
the role of feedback and self-adjustment. And some allow observation of
almost the entire cycle.
Therefore, rather than
arranging the 24 Narratives into 24 separate boxes, we should regard them as 24
different projections onto the same structure. Each projection reveals one
face of the system. When the faces are assembled, the common structure
gradually becomes visible.
This is also why
re-reading the 24 Narratives after the system of Axioms – Theorems –
Corollaries has been constructed creates a new value. Previously they were
stories. Now they become data with which to test a model of thought.
First Test: Can the
Fulcrum be found?
This must be the first question for every Narrative. Not “Who is right?” Not
“Who is wrong?” Not “What happened?” but:
Where is the real Fulcrum of the system?
In some cases the Fulcrum
is very clear. In others it is concealed by a series of secondary phenomena. A
person may believe the problem lies in circumstances. An organization may
believe the problem lies in personnel. A community may believe the problem lies
in conflict between groups. Yet when the chain of operation is traced backward,
the deeper cause may lie in the position the system is using as its Fulcrum
to orient itself.
Second Test: Does the
Fulcrum actually orient the system?
Finding the Fulcrum is only the first step. The next question is harder:
Does it explain the direction of the system’s movement?
If changing the Fulcrum
also changes the direction of movement, the relationship becomes noteworthy.
For example, a system may have the same resources, the same people, even the
same external circumstances, yet when the internal orienting principle changes,
behavior and results also change.
This allows us to observe
something very important:
The Fulcrum does not necessarily create energy. It decides in which
direction energy is used.
This is what
distinguishes the Law of the Fulcrum from an explanation based purely on
“force.” We do not only ask “How much force is there?” We ask “Where is that
force being directed?”
Third Test: Where does
imbalance begin?
One of the common mistakes in analyzing a system is to look at the final
consequence and treat it as the cause. Yet a system usually does not collapse
at the final moment. It shifts step by step.
A small change at the
Fulcrum may alter the direction of movement. The altered direction generates
new behaviors. New behaviors produce new results. New results generate
feedback. Without adjustment, the deviation may accumulate. At a certain point
the external manifestation becomes clear. People then usually see only the consequence.
The Law of the Fulcrum
requires us to reverse that chain:
Consequence → behavior → energy → information → Fulcrum.
This is a powerful test
for the 24 Narratives. If one can trace backward from result to Fulcrum, one is
not merely describing an event; one is seeking the causal structure of the
event.
Fourth Test: When the
Fulcrum is corrected, does the system change?
This test is more important than merely identifying deviation. A theory of
value does not only help us say “The problem lies here.” It must also help us
pose a testable question:
If the Fulcrum is corrected, does the system change in the predicted
direction?
If after the change of
Fulcrum the system’s behavior changes, the results change, and the capacity for
self-adjustment is restored, then the Narrative becomes a case of particular
value. It shows that the Fulcrum is not merely a concept used to explain
after the fact. It can become a variable for orienting intervention.
This is a crucial
transition:
From explanation → to application.
Fifth Test: Does the
system self-adjust?
This is where the Law of the Fulcrum moves beyond the mindset of “repair.” If a
system functions well only when an external force continuously controls it, the
system remains dependent. A stronger system is one that can self-adjust
after being returned to the correct Fulcrum.
This is especially
important for the fields we have studied earlier. In healing, more intervention
is not necessarily better. In education, transmitting more knowledge does not
automatically produce maturity. In governance, more intervention by the leader
does not necessarily strengthen the system. In reconciliation, greater
concession by one side does not necessarily make the relationship more
sustainable.
The common principle is:
Correct intervention does not replace the system; it restores the system’s
capacity for self-adjustment.
Sixth Test: Is the
result sustainable?
An immediate change is not enough. A system may temporarily return to stability
and then revert to the old state. Therefore, when analyzing a Narrative one
must distinguish between
change
and
sustainable transformation.
A sustainable result
usually requires more than an external impact. It requires that the system has
changed its internal mode of operation. That is why the chain
Fulcrum → Self-adjustment → Balance → Transformation
is more important than any single result.
If only the result
changes without changing the mechanism that produces the result, the system may
still return to the old point. But if the mechanism of self-adjustment has
changed, the system is capable of producing different results in the future.
This is the sign of genuine evolution.
XVI. When the 24 Tests Meet.
At this point a
noteworthy observation becomes possible. The tests above are not separate. They
form a chain:
Find the Fulcrum
↓
Determine the direction of energy
↓
Recognize the shift and imbalance
↓
Observe feedback
↓
Correct the Fulcrum
↓
Restore the capacity for self-adjustment
↓
Re-establish balance
↓
Create transformation
↓
Form a new state of development.
This is the moment when
the 24 Narratives begin to have meaning beyond each separate story. We no
longer ask “What does Narrative No. 1 say?” or “What does Narrative No. 2 say?”
We ask:
“Which link in the entire cycle is this Narrative illuminating?”
That is the reading of a system.
XVII. The Strongest Illustration Does Not Lie in the
Similarity of the Stories.
There is an interesting
paradox. If the 24 Narratives were completely identical, their value would not
necessarily be great, for they might be only variations of the same case. But
if the 24 Narratives are very different in circumstances yet can still be read
through the same structure, that is far more noteworthy.
A person.
A family.
An organization.
A community.
A social system.
A health issue.
An educational issue.
A governance issue.
A reconciliation issue.
A development issue.
The surfaces are
completely different. Yet if beneath them the same questions appear—
Where is the Fulcrum?
How is it orienting the system?
Is the system balanced or shifted?
How is feedback being received?
Has the capacity for self-adjustment been restored?—
then we have begun to see
a cross-domain structure.
And that is what Lesson
25 must seek.
XVIII. Yet an Important Boundary Must Be Maintained.
At this point we must
keep firmly the principle established from the beginning:
Do not turn correspondence into absolute certainty.
The 24 Narratives may
show that the Law of the Fulcrum is capable of:
Yet that is still not the
whole of scientific verification in the strictest sense. To go further requires
independent research, clear measurement criteria, control cases, and testable
predictions.
This does not diminish
the value of the 24 Narratives. On the contrary, it places them in their correct
methodological position:
The 24 Narratives are a collection of case studies capable of testing the
consistency and explanatory power of the Law of the Fulcrum.
And from this point a new
direction of research may open.
XIX. From Illustration to Prediction.
This is perhaps the most
important step of the entire Lesson 25. A theoretical system truly matures only
when it can not only explain what has already happened, but also raise
questions about what may happen next.
If we have established:
Fulcrum → direction of energy → state of the system,
then when we know the
Fulcrum is changing we may ask:
Will the direction of movement change?
If we know the system is
losing balance we may ask:
Which Fulcrum needs to be corrected?
If we know feedback is
being rejected we may ask:
How far will the capacity for self-adjustment decline?
If we know systems
possess opposing Fulcrums we may ask:
What happens when they interact?
If we find a common
Fulcrum we may ask:
Will the capacity for resonance and cooperation increase?
Thus the 24 Narratives
are not an endpoint. They may become the starting point for new testable
hypotheses. This is the transition from:
Illustration → Model → Hypothesis → Prediction → Verification.
If Lesson 25 reaches this
point, the role of the 24 Narratives will be placed in its most accurate
position:
not to “prove” the Law of the Fulcrum in an absolute sense, but to open the
way for increasingly rigorous testing of that Law.
CONCLUSION.
The 24 Narratives –
From Separate Cases to a Common Principle
1.
Not 24 stories, but 24 acts of observation.
Emphasize that the value of the 24 Narratives does not lie in retelling what
happened, but in the capacity to observe the operating mechanism of systems
across different circumstances.
2.
What is being examined is not a result, but a
structure.
Do not claim in the style of “the Narrative proves the Law.” Instead, point out
that across many cases a structure can be recognized:
Fulcrum → Orientation → Movement → Feedback → Self-adjustment → New balance.
This is a
methodologically stricter way of concluding.
3.
The value of the Law of the Fulcrum lies in
the capacity to find the right place to act.
One of the most important conclusions of this entire section:
Not every problem requires additional force. Many problems require finding
the correct Fulcrum again.
When the Fulcrum is
correct, the system can mobilize resources that already exist within it.
4.
The most important illustration is the
capacity for self-operation.
This should be the key point of the conclusion:
A solution is truly successful only when, after the intervention, the system
is able to operate better by itself.
Thus the ultimate goal of
the Fulcrum is not to create dependence on the intervenor, but to awaken the
system’s capacity for self-adjustment.
5.
From the 24 Narratives back to the entire
system.
Close the circle:
The Axioms answer: What is the Fulcrum and why does every system need
it?
The Theorems answer: How does the Fulcrum operate?
The Corollaries answer: When that principle is applied, what may
happen?
The 24 Narratives ask: In concrete cases, is that structure
recognizable?
And the answer of Lesson
25 is:
Across the 24 cases examined, a common pattern can be recognized that is
consistent enough to continue studying the Law of the Fulcrum as a principle
concerning the structure, balance, transformation, and self-adjustment of
systems.
6.
An important closing statement.
The Law of the Fulcrum does not replace the system’s operation.
The Law of the Fulcrum points to the place where the system needs to be
re-positioned so that it can operate better by itself.
The 24 Narratives are
not 24 affirmations of a doctrine. They are 24 cases with which to place a
principle before reality, observe it, compare it, and continue to test it.
If a system can
self-adjust after finding its correct Fulcrum again, then the greatest value of
the Fulcrum lies not in controlling the system, but in returning to the system
the capacity to control itself.
That is also where the
Law of the Fulcrum meets most deeply the goal of a Neutral Harmony System: not
to coerce life, but to restore the conditions in which life can balance itself,
adjust itself, and develop itself.
